- The Green Candidates' Forum already happened Monday night the 22nd at Trinity Episcopal Church in Midtown Houston. I couldn't stay for the whole thing, as I had to get back to my co-op house for our biweekly business meeting. I was the first candidate to speak, and I hope I made a good show of it. The problems with the sound system, combined with the Skype (for out-of-town candidates) and Livestream (for out-of-town voters) connections, threw me off some, I'll admit, and I ended up giving a very different speech from what I had intended. At least I didn't get carried away and talk all night. Greens, please tell me how long I have to make my case, and start counting down minutes when I'm getting close to the limit.
- Thursday night at 8 pm Central Daylight Time, I will appear live on the League of Women Voters' "Conversation with the Candidates" on Houston Media Source. That's Channel 17 for Comcast customers, 99 for UVerse. The 8 pm cable-cast is scheduled to feature candidates for Harris County Judge and Country Treasurer. This is not an on-air debate: The candidates appear one at a time and face questions from some of the League's leaders. I have no idea whether Judge Emmett will make an appearance, and I am content to be surprised. It might be enjoyable to talk about soccer and Rice University with him. I have fond memories of conversing casually with Libertarian Senatorial candidate John Jay Myers before and after our appearances on the program in 2012. You do not need to catch this live on cable access, because HMSTV and the League will have the program available for viewing afterward.
