The premise behind this work is that human beings in positions of power and influence are accelerating our progress toward Doomsday via nuclear brinkmanship and fossil-fueled climate chaos. So why not do something you've always wanted to do before it all goes completely to hell—like...learn a dead language?
This project was supposed to be accompanied by an interactive website, most of which I created during and after my Web Development bootcamp in 2021-22. The website probably exists somewhere, but I'm not going to link to it here. There is also a series of videos that I began producing to accompany the text, but, as of this writing, that production has been on hold for several months.
Beyond my six years of studying Latin and ten years of teaching it, along with all the resources used in those processes, I would like to give a lot of credit to several online sources for making sure that what I remembered about Latin was accurate and providing additional insights about vocabulary and syntax:
Here is enough material to give you an introduction to Latin vocabulary and basic syntax. More volumes will be added after they have been thoroughly edited and converted to PDF.

- I have relied most heavily on Wiktionary, the fastest (though not necessarily most accurate) pan-linguistic dictionary in the West.
- Also enormously helpful was the Dickinson College Commentaries site, which may provide information on grammar and syntax that is more accepted in the Grammarian Community than my own interpretations.
- If Dickinson doesn't give me the answers I need, The Ohio State University also has a fairly complete and concise guide to Latin grammar.
- Lastly, The Latin Library has a large collection of PDFs that can take you well beyond the fundamentals of Latin and into the works of dozens of ancient authors. The Sections labeled Latin 101 and Latin 102 provide an excellent springboard into the more advanced material.
